The Truth Behind New Orleans School Systems

    In the past decades the political power have shifted in New Orleans. Whites moved away to escape school poverty. Public education ranks the worst in New Orleans and Louisiana is the poorest state in the nation. Schools in New Orleans are so messed up . They are always telling us about how the students not doing well I'm standardize testing but I don't feel like they are doing anything to change that.
    My personal opinion is  I think the school board sucks. What do they do for the students, nothing! Recently we had a college fair at the Convention Center , schools from all over were going but our school didn't go because the school board didn't provide busses for us to go. It was from 9-12 which of course is doing school time , and other schools went to the college fair on a fieldtrip so why we didn't do the same?  I'll tell you why because the school board said they didn't have any money for us to go and because other schools in our district wasn't going we didn't need to go. This was an opportunity for students to get information about colleges and try to determine their futures. This college fair was educational and it was to help us .Students really  wanted to participate in the college fair  but because we didn't have any busses they told us to go to the 6-8  one and a lot of students didn't have a way to get there after school. The motto is No Child Left Behind but in this case they left plenty of children behind.
