Reborn

 These are just some notes I took down as I was watching this film in class about New Orleans name "Reborn".

• young black students have high expectations of being sucessful in thier career
• public education needed a change in New Orleans
• charter schools was the change
• a young male says things are getting better but he think there are still challenges that face him ahead
• a charter school is a public school that controlss its own budget and curriculm and hires its own staff
• they have 57 kipp schools in 17 states
• charter schools hire new teachers from all over the nation to try to change things becuase they sterotype the old teachers
• McD 35 is during better than most charter schools and our school is ran by african americans who have been teaching in the city for years
• it seem like the man in charge of the kipp schools is trying to control them, make them have a one track mind (Donisha Banks)
